Research - Body Posture
On the Lap
The posture of sitting with a laptop on your lap is often chosen for its convenience and the mobility. The effort of moving to a desk or setting up a workstation can sometimes seem too much for a task perceived as small or quick. However, the posture associated with this use can lead to back and neck pain due to poor ergonomic positioning.
The Cocoon
An individual may lean back, elevate their feet to the level of their seat, and pull their smartphone or tablet near, creating a cocoon-like position. The position can lead to reduced circulation in the legs due to the bending of the knees, strain on the neck from looking down at devices, and a lack of support for the lower back.

The open slit weakened the structure of the seat beam, causing the rim collapsing inward due to the pressure of material and body weight. More, the rim might snap both ends.

Adding strengthening rib to prevent the rim from collapsing inward and provide extra support for human body.
Also, I changed material from plastic rattan to polypropylene webbing, nylon, because of its flexibility, stretchiness, and softness.
